Kalenjin MP lectures DP Ruto on why the community will vote for Raila Odinga

- Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno has given a lecture to the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community ahead of the August General Election 

- Ngeno also attacked DP Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin against Raila Odinga 

- The fiery MP said it was time for the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community to vote for Raila 

- Ngeno wondered what Raila had done to the two communities that has made them hate him 

- The MP called on the Kalenjin community to forgive Raila as they had forgiven the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki 

Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno has lectured the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community on their perceived hate of National Super Alliance (NASA) flagbearer Raila Odinga. 

The fiery legislator, speaking during a NASA rally in Bomet on Saturday, June 1, called on the two communities to forgive Raila as they had done to previous leaders who had angered them. 

Ngeno also blasted Deputy President William Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin community against the NASA flagbearer. 

Ngeno wondered why the Kalenjin community has not forgiven Raila over the Mau evictions during his time as Kenya's prime minister. 

''I know Deputy President William does not know history that in 1974 Mzee Jomo Kenyatta burnt Mau and auctioned our 10,000 cattle but we forgave him, that is why we even elected his son as president, ''In 1986 Moi burnt Mau and evicted people but we forgave him, in 2005 Kibaki burnt Mau, even bibles were destroyed in a place called Sierra Leone that forced former minister Kipkalya Kones to resign but we forgave Kibaki, 

''So why cant we forgive Raila for something small and Raila has not burnt anything, if they can forgive each other and even cats and dogs can forgive each other why should we not forgive Raila?'' Ngeno said. 

Ngeno also reminded the Kalenjin that the Kikuyu and Kalenjin had fought in 2007 which led to deaths but the Kalenjin have never fought the Luo over politics.

Ngeno said it was time the Kalenjin community realised that Raila was not an enemy and that they should vote for Raila's presidency. The MP criticised DP Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin community against Raila by insinuating he was an enemy of the community. 

''Don't tell us that if we elect Raila we shall be evicted from Narok, I was born in Narok, my father was born in Narok and my grandfather was in Narok in 1889, know that even if I die I will be buried in Narok and go to heaven from Narok not from Eldoret,'' Ngeno said.

Raila and his NASA coalition are set for grueling battle for the presidency against Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto of the Jubilee Party in August.
