Prepare to be in the Opposition, Kalonzo tells Uhuru and Ruto

July 03, 2017 0
National Super Alliance (NASA) deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has laughed-off recent claims made by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto that the Wiper party leader should ditch the opposition outfit and join Jubilee.

President Kenyatta and his Deputy, during Jubilee’s campaign rally in Makueni County on Saturday, June 1, called upon Kalonzo Musyoka-whom they referred to as “a true gentlemen being misled by Raila Odinga” to ditch NASA and join the ruling coalition for a possible team-up with Ruto in the 2022 General Election.

Through a statement to the press, the former Vice President said the leaders statement were a sign of “their frustrations, agony and bitterness after their repeated failed forays into the lower eastern region.”

The Wiper Party’s leader Kalonzo, however, exuded confidence by taunting President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto start packing their bags as NASA will trounce them in the August 8th poll.

“It is comical for Uhuru and Ruto to ask me to join them as they march towards Opposition trenches, for that is surely where they will be after NASA takes over power after the August 8th, 2017 General Election,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo took a swipe on Jubilee’s claims that he has been in leadership for more than 30 years but has done nothing for Ukambani, saying that he has never been a president to have much impact in terms of development projects.

“Ironically, Gatundu is like most parts of Ukambani and other rural areas of Kenya in general. Abject poverty, characterized by debilitating jigger menace, as well as alcoholism and drug abuse, pervade the area that so far prides itself in having produced two Presidents of this country his father Jomo Kenyatta, and Uhuru himself,” added Kalonzo.

RAILA and KALONZO have no right to lecture us on corruption, Jubilee MPs say

July 03, 2017 0
A section of Jubilee leaders have launched a scathing attack on the National Super Alliance co-principals, saying that they have been in the government for too long with no substantial achievemens or projects to showcase.

Led by Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau and his Othaya counterpart Mary Wambui, the leaders speaking in Nakuru during a Jubilee campaign dubbed 100% voter turn-out, slammed the opposition coalition for their continued branding of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto as corrupt, instead terming them as the “true masterminds of corruption that has bedeviled this country for years.”

“The five leaders of NASA have been implicated in corruption cases. Raila is associated with Kisumu molasses plant saga, Mudavadi was the Finance minister when Kenya lost money in the Goldenberg scandal…,” said Gichugu MP Njogu Barua.

Ruiru MP Esther Gathongo called on the NASA presidential flag-bearer Raila Odinga and his allies to clearly state to Kenyans what they will do for them this time round after having failed to accomplish much for the decades they have been in the government.

“Jubilee government has done a lot for Kenyans, for example ensuring that maternity is free for all mothers. NASA should sit back and watch how a government is run because they have no idea,” blasted Gathogo.

Kipipiri lawmaker Samuel Gichigi urged Kenyans to maintain peace during this electioneering period and to turn out in large numbers to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta for a second term in office.

What will you do if Uhuru beats your son Raila, Tuju asks 'over-excited' Luos

July 03, 2017 0
Raphael Tuju has asked "over-excited" Luos to prepare for any eventuality in the presidential election.

The Jubilee secretary general said the people should accept defeat should that be the case in the race pitting President Uhuru Kenyatta against NASA's Raila Odinga.

They should carry on with the normal lives, he said, adding: “You should be prepared to absorb the shock that comes with Uhuru defeating your son."

He addressed on Saturday accompanied by Jubilee's Nyanza and Western presidential campaign coordinators Steve Mwanga and Hudson Aluvanje.

This was at Arram village in Rarieda during the burial of David Odongo, the brother of former Kenya Pipeline MD George Okungu.

Tuju said his analysis shows Jubilee enjoys unwavering support across the country while Raila is "busy fantasising" about his Luoland strongholds.

“He is like a fish swimming in a pond, not knowing there is an ocean as well,” he said.

An Infotrak poll found that if elections had been held on June 30, Uhuru would win by 48 per cent against Raila's 43 per cent.

It also found Jubilee the most popular party at 47 per cent support compared to NASA's 43 per cent.

The former cabinet minister further asked the Luo community not to burn bridges with Jubilee saying they might find solace in it in future.

Tuju further said Luos should not be myopic when interpreting politics as this has dragged them into oblivion while others enjoy their shares of the national cake.

"It is fine if Raila wins the presidency but what about if Uhuru defeats him? What will you people do?" he asked.

The SG termed himself the true living testimony of a Luo leader who has benefited from successive regimes because of his progressive politics that is devoid of fighting governments.

He cited the lucrative job of presidential adviser to retired president Mwai Kibaki and his Jubilee post that was a "reward" by the President.

"Luos need to be like a giraffe. They need to look beyond the August 8 election because life must go on," he said, adding he cannot join the "dirty Luo Nyanza politics of division".

Tuju joked about Siaya Senator James Orengo's efforts to keep the hopes of the NASA team flaming through court cases in relation to the conduct of the IEBC.

He categorically said that among the Siaya governor aspirants, he has strong reservations about incumbent Cornel Rasanga, who is Raila’s choice but not the people's.

"The t-shirt I am wearing bears the RT abbreviation. It does not mean 'Rasanga Tena' but 'Raphael Tuju'," he told an enthusiastic crowd.

He added Kenya should not be subjected to the violence of 1992 and 2007 that resulted from political disputes after elections.

I can't join sinking Jubilee ship, Kalonzo tells 'panicking' UhuRuto

July 03, 2017 0
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has lashed out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for saying he has nothing to offer Ukambani residents.

Uhuru and DP William Ruto said on Saturday that the NASA Deputy President candidate's future in the Opposition is uncertain.

"I urge my brother Kalonzo not to be misled by Raila Odinga (flag bearer). Come and work with us. When I leave office, you can work with William and move this country forward,” Uhuru said.

But Kalonzo, who is Wiper leader, said he cannot join the "sinking Jubilee ship" whose leaders will not win the election on August 8.

"It is comical for Uhuru and Ruto to ask me to join them as they march towards Opposition trenches, for that is surely where they will be after NASA takes over power," he said.

In a statement on Sunday, Kalonzo further said the utterances by the two in Kitui reflected frustration, agony and bitterness in Jubilee Party.

"...their repeated foray into the Lower Eastern region have failed to bear any tangible results."

The Wiper chief also said claims that he has nothing for his people were "not only false but also laughable".

"The fact that I was re-elected four times as Mwingi North MP is evidence of the confidence the electorate had in my leadership abilities," he said.

He added that any under-development in any part of Kenya should be blamed on past presidents Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki, as well as Uhuru.

"Such utterances reflect the state of panic and utter desperation on the part of the President and DP," Kalonzo said.

"They are trying, too late, to curry favours with a completely disgusted electorate who have already made up their minds to reject the extremely inept, blatantly corrupt and shamelessly tribal Jubilee regime on August 8."

Uhuru led the Jubilee brigade to Lower Eastern to drum support for his re-election.

Ruto said he is sure Kalonzo will not lead his people to a "fake Canaan".

“My brother Kalonzo is a Christian who I am sure will not allow his people to be led to a fake Canaan where chang'aa and busaa are legalised. The Canaan we know in the Bible is the one that has honey and milk,” he said.

Raila has described himself as Kenya's Joshua and the leader who will lead the people to the promised land.

Kalenjin MP lectures DP Ruto on why the community will vote for Raila Odinga

July 02, 2017 0
- Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno has given a lecture to the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community ahead of the August General Election

- Ngeno also attacked DP Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin against Raila Odinga

- The fiery MP said it was time for the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community to vote for Raila

- Ngeno wondered what Raila had done to the two communities that has made them hate him

- The MP called on the Kalenjin community to forgive Raila as they had forgiven the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki

Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno has lectured the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community on their perceived hate of National Super Alliance (NASA) flagbearer Raila Odinga.

The fiery legislator, speaking during a NASA rally in Bomet on Saturday, June 1, called on the two communities to forgive Raila as they had done to previous leaders who had angered them.

Ngeno also blasted Deputy President William Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin community against the NASA flagbearer.

Ngeno wondered why the Kalenjin community has not forgiven Raila over the Mau evictions during his time as Kenya's prime minister.

''I know Deputy President William does not know history that in 1974 Mzee Jomo Kenyatta burnt Mau and auctioned our 10,000 cattle but we forgave him, that is why we even elected his son as president, ''In 1986 Moi burnt Mau and evicted people but we forgave him, in 2005 Kibaki burnt Mau, even bibles were destroyed in a place called Sierra Leone that forced former minister Kipkalya Kones to resign but we forgave Kibaki,

''So why cant we forgive Raila for something small and Raila has not burnt anything, if they can forgive each other and even cats and dogs can forgive each other why should we not forgive Raila?'' Ngeno said.

Ngeno also reminded the Kalenjin that the Kikuyu and Kalenjin had fought in 2007 which led to deaths but the Kalenjin have never fought the Luo over politics.

Ngeno said it was time the Kalenjin community realised that Raila was not an enemy and that they should vote for Raila's presidency. The MP criticised DP Ruto for inciting the Kalenjin community against Raila by insinuating he was an enemy of the community.

''Don't tell us that if we elect Raila we shall be evicted from Narok, I was born in Narok, my father was born in Narok and my grandfather was in Narok in 1889, know that even if I die I will be buried in Narok and go to heaven from Narok not from Eldoret,'' Ngeno said.

Raila and his NASA coalition are set for grueling battle for the presidency against Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto of the Jubilee Party in August.

UHURU/ RUTO tear into RAILA’s manifesto and reduce him to nothing - He can’t be President of Kenya

July 02, 2017 0
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, took their Jubilee campaigns to Kirinyaga County, where they tore into the National Super Alliance (NASA) manifesto which was launched on Tuesday.

The President and his Deputy described Raila Odinga’s manifesto as a hollow document that would derail the country’s growth.

Uhuru criticized the Opposition for its clamor to introduce a new system of Government which he said would be bad for the country and very expensive.

The President was reacting to NASA’s proposal to introduce a hybrid executive system of governance to replace the current Presidential system.

He said Kenyans should be allowed to directly elect leaders of their choice and not for the President to be elected by Parliament.

The Jubilee brigade said Raila Odinga had nothing new to offer Kenyans and should be denied the chance to be President at all costs.
